Unable to receive emails on mobile device

I have been unable to receive emails from my TalkTalk email since the 17th. Updated the phone settings, contacted talk talk through chat , updated passwords and still nothing. I can only access my emails through webmail but that's it. Is there something I'm missing?

Just to let you know, our email service is back to normal. I can get all our emails through our apple devices. Brilliant. Thank you for all of your help.

Hi Tracy91, I've added your mailbox to those to be restored to normal function. Please allow 48 hours for the change to complete.

Hi

Yes I can see your Community profile is 90% complete so that's really good. TalkTalk respond here first and then indicate it's up to 48 hours for mailbox access to be switched back on so long as there are no unforeseen delays.  Webmail will keep you in touch in the meantime.

Hi Gondola

Sorry I have just completed the community profile and that's great to hear. Will the email be restored roughly within 48 hours?

I can see your Community profile is 30% complete and I've asked that full access is restored for the mailbox email address.

Hi Gondola

I have added the email and the info asked for in the private notes. I hope this is ok?

Hi Tracy91, please add the affected email address to your community profile so that I can help with this.

Yes the thing you were missing was motivation. Motivation to use the previously notified secure settings last year before getting notified by TalkTalk this year that continued use of insecure settings has resulted in an action of last resort of your mailbox being restricted to webmail only access.

Good to know that webmail is working and that you've now been motivated and followed the TalkTalk guidance.

All that remains is for TalkTalk to switch device access back on.  I've asked that full access is restored for the mailbox email address that you will have added to your Community profile, Personal information, Private notes. (Do check it's there along with your name and home address)

TalkTalk Support will respond here and then restore IMAP4 / POP3 access as soon as reasonably possible. Until full access is switched back on, use TalkTalk Mail webmail via an up to date Internet browser to keep in touch with email contacts.

Are you confident that no help is necessary checking services / devices / email software for compatibility with TLS 1.2 encryption and the incoming and outgoing server settings in use? Did you identify the insecure settings, for example? The culprit device or software that got mailbox access switched off because ports 25 (SMTP) or 110 (POP) or 143 (IMAP) were used on the mobile phone?
