not receiving certain e mails

my wife and myself have almost the same e mail address

*****smith@tiscali.co.uk

the only differences being **** which are our first names

when we send each other e mails they appear in our sent folders but the recipient does not receive them.

this has only just started to happen

all other sending and receiving e mails  appears to be working fine
