Network cable re-routing

I am having a new front door fitted to my house. The door fitter has been to do a survey and noticed that a cable from the Openreach Customer Service Point runs through the existing door threshold. The door fitter is not willing to cut through the threshold in case he is liable for damages to the network.

I need an engineer to come and visit to check if the cable is still in use and, if so, to re-route the cable so it does not go through the threshold (or if not in use, remove it).

I realise this is most likely an Openreach engineer visit, but I cannot book that myself (they are unwilling to talk to me about it direct) - it would have to be via TalkTalk.

I have tried using the TalkTalk Digital Assistant Chat, but that has just pointed me towards an un-monitored Openreach email address and a phone number for reporting dangerous telephone poles.

Can someone help?

Hi,

You can arrange this yourself by filling in a form on the Openreach website.

They should contact you to discuss within 3 days

Details can be found here.
