Just come down to use the computer and my router/wifi hub is repeatedly blinking the front light from white to orange for a second or two. doesn't seem to be dropping the connection or speed - any idea why it's doing it?

This is all down to the Digital Voice problem. All updates are on the Service Status Dashboard.

Might have the answer; the network status page has a flag about VoIP being down, and indeed my landline is giving a solid tone when i pick it up.

It says below connecting to internet but as you have said its connected so somethings weird is going on -
Light Sequence and Status:
Blinking amber: Your Wi-Fi Hub is starting up.
Blinking amber and white: Your Wi-Fi Hub is connecting to the Internet.
Solid white: You are connected to the Internet.
Solid amber: Your Wi-Fi Hub is verifying your connection. If you have Fibre, wait a few minutes. If you don't have Fibre or it stays solid amber for more than 15 minutes, contact TalkTalk.

If its the eero doesn't seem to be a listing for - blinking the front light from white to orange f
