With VPN turned on the format of BBC news webpages is not as expected.

Your opening post does not give much to go on.

 

What VPN client are you using and which make/model of router do you have? Please bear in mind that anything that you access from wherever this VPN server is,to the BBC, could be down to issues with the VPN itself or their internet access router that the VPN server is connected to.
