 Hi

TalkTalk YouView Humax DTRT2120 Has this past week not recorded scheduled programmes.
now when I try to add news recordings it replies “This programme can’t be recorded. Try again later”

has there been some software updated that has disabled recordings?
app viewing obviously doesn’t allow skipping through ads.

The TalkTalk on screen is a "skin" applied as you are using the TalkTalk network.

How did you acquire the box? The only boxes that TalkTalk have supplied are Huawei made or the older Humax T1000 boxes for early trialists.

This model was originally produced for BT with some being made available for retail.

Anyway, I'm pleased you have it working again.

Hi, no this is a talktalk supplied box, never been with BT. Says Talktalk TV on info screen.

I did a soft reset and it seems to have restored recording functionality. Older recordings were still playing anyway and continue to do so.

NB this is a BT branded box and so any updates come from BT, which confirms this is not a TalkTalk supplied box.

I suggest you have a look on the BT forum should the above not solve the issue and you require more help.

Hi,

I don't think this is a TalkTalk supplied box as I believe the only Humax supplied boxes were T1000, which were trial only in the early days of TalkTalk TV.

As such staff here will be unable to offer advice.

That said, these boxes are, I understand, no longer supported and will not therefore have had an update.

What happens if you press record, to record the programme currently on? I suspect this does not record either.

Have you tried playing a program via iPlayer? Does this work? If not check your internet connection to the router.

Do your existing recordings play ok?

Failed recordings are often a symptom of a hard drive failing.

Have you tried a soft reset? To do this hold the power button on the front for around 10 seconds and the box should restart.

If this doesn’t work then have you tried a YouView Maintenance Reset (https://support.youview.com/youview-box/box-and-remote/using-maintenance-mode/)?

Try the Factory Reset keep recording option.

You will then need to reset your personal settings (such as parental controls / Set antenna Out to On in Settings: Picture and Sound / Surround Sound etc.) and also reset your scheduled recordings (might be worth taking a note of future recordings before doing this so you don’t miss any.

If all else fails then try a full factory reset from the settings menu you've just used above. You will lose your recordings but if the hard drive can be saved, this setting will do so.

Hope this helps.
