I am currently on full fibre 65 with a copper landline and have applied to upgrade to the digi voice there by keeping my phone number and current phone set with a new adapter.
On looking at the videos detailing how to do this I have realised that my current router ( huawei dg8041 ) does not have the green socket to plug the adapter / phone into. Will my account show I have the outdated router and send out a replacement automatically or do I have to contact them to arrange one.
Thanks
MJ

Certainly, @west-hoe .
The other customer didn't realise the impact of continued posting rather than starting their own thread.
You can change settings yourself if you wish not to get further updates by notification email, but I will close this to new posts now.

Could somebody please CLOSE this thread.
It was answered very quickly with the information I requested and I thank you for that.
I am not amused that the thread was " hijacked " and now my inbox is filling up with that persons problems.
Thanks

Specifics of set up can only be ascertained when engineers visit once you have ordered, @Roy_Harrison.
Most phones should work fine with the new equipment. Any issues arising shouldn't be insurmountable when the time comes.

VOIP is just the digital way of making voice calls, @Roy_Harrison .
There's a nice clear article here:

Thanks, @Gliwmaeden2 . I had tried searching before (of course) but not found what I wanted. "VOIP" got me nowhere, but "Digital Voice" is now bearing fruit. You suggest the lounge area is not a good place to post, however I don't have an urgent system problem, I am just looking for information that I suspect talktalk publish somewhere. I have now found: https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Articles/Digital-Voice-Adapter/ta-p/2815435 so this has helped me go in the right direction.
Best wishes,
Roy

Use the forum search engine, @Roy_Harrison.
You'll find articles such as this:
https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Articles/How-Full-Fibre-is-installed/ta-p/2555166
If you need specific further support, please start your own thread, in the staffed area of the forum, specifically for Full Fibre etc.
This is another customer's old thread and not in the queue for attention from staff. You have posted in the "lounge" area.
Check out the forum "help with your service" boards [and then start your own topic, not using someone else's] to begin any specific queries.

Thank you, Gliwmaeden2, but I am hoping to understand what I am to expect in terms of hardware and system arrangement before committing to an order.
Best wishes,

You need to place the order for VOIP [continued use of the landline number, through the router or with a Digital Voice Adapter + Eero, depending on the package] at the time of ordering, @Roy_Harrison.
Order in person by speaking to an agent on 03451 720088 or Chat.

Similarly to the customer above, I am considering the option of choosing digital voice and maintaining my existing phone number, as talktalk have given me notice of increased charges for copper (£12 per month). However, I see nothing from talktalk to explain the details about changing to digital voice. I have done some research, but if talktalk have some sort of package, that will save me and others a lot of time and uncertainty.
Please would someone at talktalk point us customers at the relevant information about the digital voice technology. I would like to know what new equipment is needed in the home, what is supplied by talktalk if anything, what plugs in where etc, as alluded to above (does it work on WiFi, or does it need connecting directly to the router). Furthermore, what VOIP domestic telephones does talktalk recommend, if any?
Best wishes,
Roy

Good afternoon,
If you've signed up for FTTP with digital voice (VOIP) then you will be sent new equipment prior to the upgrade date.
Thanks
