Hello Everyone,
I am in need of a bit (Okay alot) of assistance setting up a MultiRoom Wireless Speaker System. I bought an Audio Pro C3 Portable speaker and an Audio Pro Link2 (To connect my Turntable). The speaker was up and running after about 5 mins but the Link2 keeps dropping. I contacted Audio Pro and their reply follows;
Do you have same SSID on 2.4GHz and 5GHz band in your router?
If you do try and separate then and connect Link2 to your 2.4GHz band as well and see if you find both then.
It could be that your router has issues to communicate between bands..
So my questions are ...
Should I do this? and if so how (without causing multiple other issues)?
Thank you for any help you can give. It will be gratefully received.
Kind Regards
Paul S

I was finally able to save the SSID without a password change but it took 2 Applies. I knew it worked because I could see the Original SSID and the new created one in my WiFi list on my phone.
Unfortunately, one of the things I moved to 2.4GHz jumped straight back to 5GHz after I put the name back. I now need to go back to Audio Pro.
This exercise has definitely not been a waste of time. You have taught me a great deal about routers which I can use going forward and for that I am very grateful.
I will now go away and leave you in peace.
Thanks again for all your help
Kind Regards

All of them will be wiped out. I can't see why it won't let you change the 5GHz SSID without changing the password. However, if it is forcing that, then put 5G after both its SSID & password. Then after connecting these 2.4GHz only devices, revert both back to your normal ones.

Oh! Poop!
By doing a reset of the router will that undo all my changes?
Sorry to keep bothering you.

Hi @P_J_S
You have another problem now, when you re-enable the 5GHz band, the router and/or 266 will not work correctly. The only way around this bug at the moment is to do a factory reset of the configuration.

Hi Keith,
Just reporting back as promised.
Well it didn't go quite as expected. I tried to rename the 5Ghz SSID but it kept highlighting the WPA2 password. I had a look at the password and it was as per the back of my router. I didn't want to change it and the SSID name change wouldn't save. I then noticed that I could disable the 5GHx so I did that. I then re installed the Speaker and Link2. Everything seems to now working (fingers crossed). I have re enabled the 5GHz.
Thank you so much for all your help you are a very talented person and an asset to this community.
Kind Regards

Hello again,
Thank you for the information. I feel much more comfortable renaming one Band then putting it back again.
Thank you for helping me with this, I am very grateful as you saved me from making a right pigs ear of everything.
Kind Regards

Hi @P_J_S
Whilst it is technically possible to have different SSIDs one for each WiFi band, TalkTalk do not want you to do this, as it can cause problems with some equipment. What you can try doing is to temporarily ad the text:-
5G
To the end of your SSID for the 5GHz band, connect these devices and then rename the 5GHz band back to its normal name. The separate SSID names is normally only required when you initially connect some 2.4GHz devices via an app.
To change the 5GHz band name, log into the router & go to:-
Dashboard > See Wi-Fi Settings > Manage Advanced Settings > Wi-Fi 5Ghz gear icon > Basic

Hi Keith,
Thank you for getting involved. It is very much appreciated.
It would appear the Audio Pro Speaker and the Link2 need to be using 2.4 GHz. My current router setup is Band 1 is 2.4 GHz and Band 2 is 5 GHz but they both share the same Ssid. The support boys at Audio Pro seem to want me to give each Band a different Ssid and connect both speaker and Link2 to 2.4 GHz. Not sure about routers and didn't want to completely screw up everything. Her indoors would not be happy.
Thank you again for your help.
Kind Regards

Hi @P_J_S
@Debbie-TalkTalk has asked me to help you. Do these two devices only support the 2.4GHz band then or do they both support the 5GHz band as well?
