My new modem is blinking orange but it seems to be connecting with the eero.

Please, can you elaborate on what equipment you are talking about?

 

By modem, do you mean the ONT that terminates your fibre coming into your property? If so, who provided the fibre, Openreach or CityFibre? Alternatively, is this "modem" actually another router that you are trying to connect to your eero?
