I frequently get a message on my computer saying 'This Wi-Fi network uses an older security standard that's being phased out. We recommend connecting to another network'. What does this mean? Should I have a new router?

OK, well just check in the wireless settings that the encryption type is set to WPA2 AES.

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here: How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - Help & Support.

Which make/model of router do you have? To my knowledge all TalkTalk routers have had WPA2 security for many years now.
