Hi Vince
Apologies for this.
Would you like me to send another router for testing?

Hi,
No the 5GHz channel is not working ..

OK - will do now

Hi Vince
Ok, thanks for confirming this.
I've just switched the WIFI optimisation off on your line (now the new router is connected)
Could you retest again for me please?

Hi,
I renamed the channels to TALKTALK455B33 and TALKTALK455B3324. I did some more diagnostic last night. If I revert to factory setting, a couple of devices grab the 5GHz channel, but then within a couple of minutes they switch to the 2.4 channel and no devices are on the 5GHz channel. Once I split the SSID's I also notice that the 5GHz channel is not appearing in Wi-Fi network lists.
I have had to revert to the old router as the devices in my house need to see both named channels for my smart home to work. On the old router, connected now, I have 8 devices using the 5GHz channel, so I know it is something to do with the new router.

Hi Vince
When you split the SSID's, did you rename the 5GHZ channel? I did the same the other day and I named one TT2GHZ and TT5GHZ, I could then see both in my wireless list.
Thanks

Hi Debbie,
I've had problems on one laptop today, so to be safe I have now swapped out the router for the new one. I have renamed it the same as my old router to save reconfiguring all connections. All devices initially connected at 2.4GHz, and now I have renamed this channel, the 5GHz channel is not visible at all to devices. It is setupto use channel 36, same as my old one.

Morning,
Thanks for the update. Yes of course, we'll check back in with you in a few days to see if the connection has remained stable.
Thanks

Hi Debbie,
The router has arrived, however, since you attempted the firmware update yesterday morning the service has been completely stable, so I'm a bit reluctant to swap out and have to reconfigure all my devices agan. Can I hang on to the new router for a few days to see if my existing one remains stable?

Apologies, I've checked again and the firmware update keeps failing.
Would you like me to send a replacement router?

Debbie - an agent told me they did this yesterday after I did the factory reset they requested via chat. Is it not on the latest firmware?

Hi Vince
I can update your router to the latest firmware version to see how the connection compares.
Please can you factory reset your router using the pin hole reset for ten seconds, I can then try and update the firmware.
Thanks
Debbie
