I don't usually spend much time in these forums unless I have a problem. Which I do at the moment. And which has (temporarily, I hope) locked me out of my account for the moment because the login system can't seem to recognise the secure access codes it insists I request.

I'm actually a bit late to the party, but I'm trying to follow the advice from fry8s re associating my email addresses with my Broadband Account. I can get at my emailed bills, so I know my 10 digit account number. What I don't seem to have is anywhere to input it to my profile because there is no entry for Accouht Number. There are two possible fields, Singleview and Customer, but they both appear to be greyed out.

I need to get into my account to check what email address details it still holds for me, and I need a profile field to take my account number.

Any advice will be gratefully received.

@Phil  Just the two, or all four? If all four, are you allowed to tell what are the TalkTalk ones called? If only two, then that's fine.by me as long as I can create a new one (a new TalkTalk one, that Is). By the way, if I create a new one, will it automatically.be linked to my broadband account?

@durdle the emails are linked to the account, please ignore any communication about signing up as we have seen a number of spams around this particular mail.

@Philile-TT I use both of the lineone addresses. I have no idea what the TalkTalk ones were. Are you able to tell me? If not, throw them away, they'll be no use to me.

@durdle are you receiving the Everymail email on the email address I have advised is not listed on the account?

@ferguson That's a separate issue really, but I like to solve things one at a time. For the record, if I log in using my durdle username and password as stored in Chrome, all goes well. If I try to log in using my email address, the process does nothing whasoever; ie the display doesn't change in any way,, and I get no error message etc. I need to try a few experiments before I report this formally. There seem to be quite a few mechanisms for logging in to mail. Some work, some don't.

Meanwhile, the essential issue here is that I wish my account to be protected from Everymail as per the advice previously posted by @fr8ys.

@durdle you have 4 emails listed on your account, 2 emails are talktalk emails and 2 are lineone. The 3 emails listed in your private notes the ell email is not on the account.

@fr8ys Thanks for the link; I'll check it out. Mailbox Manager is very new to me, so that might take a while. All I can say is that I do see both email addresses there, and not the third one I was looking for, but I still have a problem with logging in. I'll explain that in my next post.

@durdle

Is the issue here that you are having problems signing into your TalkTalk My Account?

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here: How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - Help & Support.

Yes, I did mean email account.

Do you see both lineone emails in Mailbox Manager? If so, then they are current.

In Mailbox Manager you can delete and create new addresses.

This help page should give you full details, but sadly no link to the App, which I have been pushing for for ages, but you have that now.

@fr8ys When you say account, do you mean email address? I never made much use of my Tiscali email, I can't even remember the name, never mind the password, and I'm not bothered if it's  gone for good, but I would quite like a shiny new linked TalkTalk address if that's possible. At the moment, I have one other working lineone addresse but I did have one other which I'll  also include in my profile. The last one of these hasn't been used for years and, again, I won't shed too many tears if it can't be resurrected.

@durdle when did you last use your tiscali account?

Was this previously associated with another broadband account you may have had?

Have you tried logging into Mailbox Manager using the Tiscali address and password? Does it allow you access?

If it does then it would appear it's not associated with the same broadband account.

If you still believe this should be active then please add it to the private notes section of your profile and staff can look into this for you and see if it can be associated with your current broadband.

You can have up to 5 email addresses so you should be able to add another under Mailbox Manager.

I have now managed to log in to Mailbox Manager (who knew that was a thing, not me, obviously) and it seems that I now only have two mail addresses, both lineone.net, so I can enter them in my profile. I did once also have a Tiscali address, but that seems to have gone out with the bath water. Would I be able to create a Talktalk address now if I wanted the hassle of updating all my online account? I'm inclined to think I wouldn’t as the only Add facility I've  spotted seems limited to creating additional lineone.net ones.

Hi,

You no longer access email changes via My Account

All changes are accessed via Mailbox Manager.

Link here

https://apps.talktalk.co.uk/myaccount/#/login

If you try and fail too many times to access my account you will be locked out for 24 hours.

DO NOT try to access My Account before the 24 hours is up otherwise it's 24 hours from the last try.

You have an active broadband account, you do not need to sign up to everymail. Hence you need to confirm your email addresses to check if we have the same email addresses linked on the account.

Ok,  thanks

l'll have another go at logging in to my account later today to double check what email addresses are still available to me. Then I'll report Everymail if they keep emailing me to demand I use their link to enrol with them.
