Hi Gondola,
TalkTalk Webmail is working ok but am no longer able to send or receive in Apple Mail or on iOS.
I've changed the server settings to be secure as you've posted earlier but verification fails.
Please can you enable POP3/IMAP for my account too which I manage on behalf of my Dad who will be 91 on Wednesday.
Thank you in advance.

If your dad is trying to send mail from a non-TalkTalk domain email address but using the TalkTalk SMTP servers then please ask him to cease trying. TalkTalk do not permit the use of TalkTalk mail servers for non-TalkTalk domains. He may well have been able to use the servers previously for unauthenticated mail but many receiving mail services just mark that as spam because of the lack of authentication.
Your dad will need to use the SMTP servers and mail settings provided by the ISP / website / domain / mail hosting service he has his email provided by. TalkTalk do not authenticate non-TalkTalk mail.
Your dad can use a talktalk.net email address because that's part of the broadband package with TalkTalk. (excludes full fibre customers).

Hi Gondola,
Thanks I tried again yesterday, here’s a summary of what works:

The notification would have gone out to mailboxes that were detected as having insecure connections and that were at risk of having IMAP/POP3 access switched off. There are apparently tens of thousands of such mailboxes so the 'switch off' campaign is notifying users in batches of the need to update to secure email settings.
You're now indicating there's another mailbox address that was definitely using insecure settings.
I've requested that full access is restored for the email address mailbox in your Community profile Private notes.
TalkTalk Support will respond here and access returned within a couple of days after that. Until then ask the user to use TalkTalk Mail webmail via an up to date Internet browser to keep in touch with email contacts.

Hi Gondola,
I checked my Dad’s email and there was no TalkTalk message warning about this.
However he uses another pop3 email address and confirm was sending out emails insecurely up until I updated the settings to use the secure SMTP port with a new talktalk email account I created but authentication fails.
I’ve updated the private profile to include the a/c and email address

If your dad saw the message from TalkTalk advising "Our records show that you are still accessing your email using unencrypted email settings, because of this you will no longer be able to receive or send emails via this email app or software" then the email address receiving that notification has been limited to webmail only access as a last resort action by TalkTalk to stop the use of insecure email.
TalkTalk Mail webmail is secure by design using an up to date Internet browser. Good to know that webmail is working for your dad.

Enter your full TalkTalk Mail email address and password, select Sign in.
You will be able to get email access restored to email apps or software including mail collection services so long as you're ready to use up to date and secure email settings for all the ways you view emails. We can advise on device and software compatibility and provide customer setup guides. Just let us know each mail collection service, each device, its operating system and email software including version that are in current use.
What's the Operating system for the Apple Mail device / iOS device?
For a definitive check of settings take screenshots of the incoming and outgoing server settings, image edit to obscure the first part of the email address and upload here using the Camera icon (desktop browser) or Picture icon (mobile browser) above this reply area.
When you confirm the secure settings are ready I can request TalkTalk Support to restore full access. TalkTalk Support will respond here and access will be restored usually within a couple of working days.
Prepare for TalkTalk Support - include in the Community Profile (not in these public posts):
