I cannot send an email containing a photograph to an NHS address from my iMac and the response in the failure panel states it's for policy reasons. What does that mean? A similar email from my iPhone appears to have been sent but this is an urgent matter and the situation is absolutely unsatisfactory.

Hi IanClark, too many customers keeping old reused passwords allow hackers and spammers to access their mailboxes hence the instruction to change the password for a new never used before password to ensure the security. If you reset the password for an old one the block will be lifted, but your mailbox will be blocked again.

I had changed my email password twice but it did not help. After posting my query I found that the fault had been corrected. However this leaves the question of why the fault occurred in the first place. I had sent emails from my iMac the day before without problem and as I said above sending from my iPhone worked fine. I made no changes to my iMac so how did the fault arise? Is this a basic weakness in the Talktalk system? If the origin of the problem is nnot found and corrected it will doubtless recur.

Hi IanClark, you need to reset your email password to a new one never used before on this mailbox. Once that's done if you still can't send please post back.
