Have you recently had an email, purporting to be from TalkTalk asking you to confirm your account and if so, did you follow the link?

If so then your account may have been compromised this way as it was a scam email.

Have you lost access to your account? If not what symptoms are you seeing that leads you to believe it has been hacked.

Have you tried to secure your account by changing your password?  Use one you have not previously used.

If you can gain access export your address book as a back up providing it has not been deleted.

Set up account recovery information with an alternative email address and phone number.

Check there are no mail forwarding rules set up.

For info I am not aware of any paid for, or free, protection for securing your email account. With the number of scams being perpetrated these days it's not feasible as scammers are one step ahead all the time and virus and malware programmes can only react once a threat is known.

Let us know how you get on and additional relevent information if you still require help.

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here: How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - Help & Support.
