Outgoing emails not working

Have trouble sending emails via my laptop.  Have changed settings as advised. I am receiving emails OK, is just sending mail.  I use a client app called emClient.   have used the diagnosis on it and tell it to fix, so it goes through the procedure, but then finally fails at the last hurdle by saying email server was detected but credentials were rejected.  I have not changed my password for talktalkmail.  This is for both accounts.  (Note it is working OK for incoming and outgoing messages on my android phone)

Hi HazelG 

 

Make sure that emClient is up to date. The settings will not be exactly the same as advised by TalkTalk.

 

You'll need to set up emClient as an IMAP account with the following settings:

 

Account Type  IMAP
Username Full email address
Password Email password
Incoming mail server Host mail.talktalk.net
Incoming Port (IMAP) 993
Security Policy Use SSL/TLS on special port (Legacy)
Outgoing mail server Host smtp.talktalk.net
Outgoing Port 587
Security Policy Force usage of SSL/TLS
Server Requires Authentication Yes
Authentication Method Normal Password

 

Let us know if that's now working.
