I have a current and live “talktalk.net” mail account, which I have used for a few years now. When I go into the Manage Mailbox section of My Account, it tells me that the functionality to create/delete mailboxes has been temporarily removed while they perform maintenance work on the email platform.

Please log in to My Account if you need to view or pay your bill, manage boosts and track your usage. From My Account you can also check your connection and test your line for any issues in the Service Centre.
