TalkTalkmail hacked over last weekend

My TalkTalk email has been hacked. I've been able to open it and deleted the mail forwarding that had been put in place by the hacker. I have changed my password and am currently receiving emails but I have lost everything that was on my account prior to this morning. Is there any way of getting that back? I'm not sure how this happened but may have been an email that I thought was from TalkTalk.   Any help would be appreciated.

Previous messages from staff in this forum, have said that if a hacker has already stolen your emails and/or address book contents from your email address, there is nothing much you can do. Copies of that info are not kept by TalkTalk. If they are gone, they are gone.

To have avoided this, one could have downloaded the info to the computer, in a permanent folder.
