Tiscali Emails not showing calender in Outlook 2019

I cannot get my calendar to show for talk talk tiscali emails in Outlook 2019. It appears that using IMAP restricts particular items which were working perfectly well when using POP3. all my other emails using outlook or hotmail the calendar works fine!

Am i missing something?

If Microsoft Mail via Outlook.com, formerly known as Hotmail, suits you best that's perfectly OK.

TalkTalk Mail does support POP3 and IMAP connections via supported software that does include Outlook 2019.

I gave you a way to use colour labelling here at the end of our last discussion.

But go with Outlook.com as it's an OK webmail service.

Hi Team

just to let you know that i have given up waiting for the TalkTalk tech department coming back to me regarding my calendar problem using Outlook 2019 and the ghost files being generated on my PC emails (not webmail). Additionally as stated by yourselves colour coding of emails is not available using IMAP which has created more problems for me when sorting emails...

All these problems have occured since being stopped by TalkTalk  from using PoP3 and having to use IMAP.    This has now forced me to transfer most of my emails to hotmail to allow me to use the facilities mentioned above.

I am really astonished that TalkTalk (Tiscali) emails  do not allow the service facilities i have to now get from Hotmail.

Anyway just wanted to air my dissapointment at TalkTalk not being able to give the services i require.!

Regards

Sign in to webmail and move the unwanted folder(s) to Trash.

Select here: Sign in to TalkTalk Mail

Enter your full TalkTalk Mail email address, select Continue and enter the password, select Sign in.

  • Select the triple dots after the sub-folder name
  • Select the Move menu item and move the selected folder to Trash
  • OR select the Delete menu item and confirm deletion

Not heard anymore regarding your tech dept regarding the calendar however i have noticed another problem with incompatability using Tiscali emails (IMAP) with Outlook 2019. Example in some cases when i try to delete a folder (with sub folder) i have created from the inbox folder, it makes a ghost copy which cannot be deleted.

Not sure why this is happening! Just another quirk which only happens using Tiscali emails linked to outlook 2019.

I've asked one of the email admins if they're aware of any problems with this. They're going to want to know Operating System and version, Outlook version. What other devices this has been tested on?

If you try to view the CalDAV URL in a browser then you will get the 404 not found error.

To test the calendar sync is working on a migrated mailbox I've added new calendar entries to a different TalkTalk email address calendar that's linked to a migrated email address on the new TalkTalk Mail platform. I've used the CalDAV URL to add the new calendar to Thunderbird's unified calendar where there is already a synchronised calendar for an unmigrated TalkTalk email address mailbox. The new calendar does have two way synchronising i.e. entries in Thunderbird get copied to TalkTalk and TalkTalk entries get copied to Thunderbird.

All you need is:

  • The CalDAV URL
  • The mailbox email address as User name
  • The mailbox password

I cannot replicate your report as I can see that CalDAV sync is working exactly as expected on both migrated and unmigrated Calendar apps.

Nevertheless I will ask TalkTalk to investigate your case assuming you haven't totally given up.

Yes CalDAV synchroniser installed to Outlook 2019 .  Calendar URL shows error .  Talk talk page cannot be found HTTP error 404.   I have now given up trying to get the calendar showing in my Tiscali emails in outlook 2019. The calendar shows other emails ( outlook)  without a problem.

Dissapointed with no more time to waste on this problem.

Thanks for your help though.

As previously mentioned, IMAP has no mechanism to transmit different colour flags along with the mail messages.

I asked if your Tiscali mailbox was migrated to the new TalkTalk Mail platform. I'll therefore assume yes and give you the details but it's similar for unmigrated mailboxes.

Select here: Sign in to TalkTalk Mail

Enter your full TalkTalk Mail email address, select Continue and enter the password, select Sign in.

  • Select the calendar app from the apps toolbar
  • Under My Calendars - Select the calendar and the triple horizontal dots to bring up a menu modal
(triple line 'hamburger' menu icon for unmigrated mailboxes)
  • Select Properties
You'll now see the CalDAV URL - the unique web address for your online calendar
  • Use that CalDAV URL in Outlook.

Hi Gondola

I am not using Talk talk web mail as such.. I have however installed CalDAV synchroniser to Outlook 2019 which has not solved the problem. When i open outlook 2019 emails then open the calendar, the calendar still only shows my outlook emails not Tiscali emails therfore i cannot make appoint ments and show them in my calenar using my Tiscali Emails !

Not at all happy with Talk Talk especially when forced to use IMAP settings instead of  POP3 which when using the calendar worked fine in outlook 2007.

Using IMAP also prevented me using colours to indentify my emails for different categories which you said previously was not available using IMAP.

So there are real negatives using TalkTalk (Tiscali emails).

Have you installed a CalDAV synchroniser to Outlook 2019? There isn't one installed as a default option.

A Google calendar will sync with Outlook but to get other calendars to sync with Outlook you need to specify the CalDAV URL or Internet address for Outlook to pick up and synchronise to a TalkTalk Mail calendar.  There is full CalDAV sync for TalkTalk Calendars on the new mail platform.

Alternatively you can Export a calendar from the TalkTalk Calendar app as an ICS file and Import that into Outlook. But that's a static calendar without two-way synchronising.

Is your TalkTalk mailbox migrated to the new TalkTalk Mail platform?
