I guess the later advice takes account of the fact that TalkTalk mailboxes cannot presently be added, or removed? Anyway, let's wait and see if the OP has anything further to say.

That's odd, because the general Cancel your service article, which is more recent, states as follows:

@beeteehum1, you say your "email only" account, so you have been paying for Mail Plus?
Current instructions say:
...... but adding or removing mailboxes hasn't been possible for quite some time.
Staff on here may manage this for you.
Make sure that your Personal Information details are completed for them to identify your account.
Go via your avatar; settings; drop down menu....add the account number in Personal Information and scroll down to find the button to SAVE CHANGES.
Staff will respond during the day (Monday to Friday).

Just to be clear: you have an email only i.e. TalkTalk Mail Plus account; or you are a TalkTalk broadband customer? If the latter, then you cannot cancel just the email service, but you don't have to use it.
