significant increase in spam emails

I am writing to report a significant increase in spam emails I have been receiving in recent weeks.

This issue seems to be affecting many customers, as evidenced by discussions on various forums.

The TalkTalk spam filter appears not as effective as those of Gmail and other providers.

I'm locking this thread from further comments as it's not helpful adding "me to" posts.

Support staff will unlock to answer the original poster @RodTalk  if required.

Absolutely right. I’m blocking these unwanted emails by the dozen every day!

If you'd like to register for support please start your own thread as, ironically, posting on other people's threads is seen as spam under forum guidelines.

Thank you.

In the last six weeks or so I have received over 50 spam messages, almost all addressed to 'you'. Prior to then I would receive perhaps one every couple of months. Something has gone very wrong at TalkTalk, I think.

Hi,

This is actively being looked into but unfortunately spammers and scammers are always at least one step ahead of those trying to limit them. It's the same with viruses. Until they appear anti virus software cannot combat them.

If you hover over the senders details it's also unlikely to be a TalkTalk email address when they purport to be from them.

Whatever you do, do not click on any links.

TalkTalk have requested that spam mail be reported to them.
How to do this can be found here

Thank you.
