I recently ad an error "DNS not responding". I called the helpline. It tested my telephone line which passed the test and sent me a text message suggesting that I log onto talktalk.co.uk/tech for more assistance. I find this very difficult when the DNS is not responding and I cannot therefore log onto the internet. What is a user supposed to do in these circumstances?

Have you tried logging into whichever router you have, going to the internet connectivity section & setting it to a DNS server such as Google DNS on:-
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
