Having been with TalkTalk since before it was Tiscali I eventually accepted the inevitability of fibre having flirted with Virgin after they had dug up all of the footpaths to lay cables only to find that BT had put in ducting 45 years ago. The prospect of VOIP telephone was a winner after years of intermittent crackling on the land line but after 2 days I find the sound quality very poor. It is like listening to someone talking into a tin can 2 streets away. I am hoping that this is not normal but 2 1/2 hours of text conversations this morning I gave up as, even after explaining myself countless times I could not convince any of the 4 different people I texted with that I was not talking about a land line telephone. This is not a complaint but a comment about the difficulty of communicating at that level.
I ask if this is the best available or can something be done about it.
