In the article, 'How to use HomeSafe', at https://help-centre.talktalk.co.uk/Broadband/Security/How_to_use_HomeSafe ,

in the section, 'Scam Protection' --> 'How do I turn Scam Protection Off?',

incorrect instructions are given.

It says, to turn Scam Protection Off:

  1. Log into MyAccount
  2. Select Offers & Upgrades from the navigation menu
  3. Select My Packages & Upgrades from the dropdown menu
  4. Select My Security Settings
  5. In the HomeSafe section, Select OFF and confirm when you see the pop-up window

It should say, to turn Scam Protection Off

  1. Log into MyAccount
  2. Select Packages & Upgrades from the navigation menu (NOT Offers & Upgrades)
  3. Select My Package and services from the dropdown menu
  4. Select My security settings
  5. In the Scam Protection section of Homesafe, Select OFF and confirm when you see the pop- up window

A quicker route is,

  1. Log into MyAccount (This takes one to MyAccount Dashboard)
  2. Scroll down
  3. Select Manage your Wi-Fi security
  4. In the Scam Protection section of Homesafe, Select OFF and confirm when you see the pop-up window

It is a similar case, in the article,

https://help-centre.talktalk.co.uk/Telephone/Telephone_Add_ons_and_settings/Using_Selective_call_rej...

where it says, under 'Activating selective call rejection',

  1. Login to MyAccount
  2. Choose Networks & Connections from the navigation menu then My Telephone Settings
  3. Tick the box next to Last Caller Barring
  4. Save your changes by selecting the Update button at the bottom of the page

  1. To get started, log into MyAccount
  2. Choose Networks & Connections from the navigation menu then My Telephone Settings
  3. Choose; Manage home phone Boosts
  4. Tick the box next to Last Caller Barring
  5. Save your changes by selecting the Update button at the bottom of the page

Inexplicably, it gives the wrong instructions, twice.

In order to activate selective call rejection, one first has to get to the right webpage,

https://myaccount.talktalk.co.uk/myservices/myservices/view

To get to the right page:

  1. Log in to MyAccount
  2. click/tap on your avatar
  3. click/tap Profile & Settings (NOT Networks & Connections')
  4. click/tap My Telephone Settings

This brings one to right screen: 'https://myaccount.talktalk.co.uk/myservices/myservices/view'

where one can tick/untick the 'Last Caller Barring' box and then the Update button.

As these are important links,

Please, could these be flagged, and be amended?

Thank you

The other thing I forgot to mention, is that Talktalk should avoid using a million different versions of a link, to the same target webpage. just because their programmers can do it.
