I have been without a phone line for around 10 weeks now because BRSK ported my number without my knowledge or permission during a week's free trial of their fibre 150, because my TalkTalk fibre 150 didn't cover my whole house as promised. Despite me buying 2 extra eeros as extenders.
After 3 days I cancelled the free trial as it wasn't any better. I disconnected the BRSK equipment myself and they sent me a retuns package to send the router etc back. But I told them I wanted the cable from the pole to our house removing as it is in the way of my ladder. So My phone started to play up and then went off altogether and after reporting it the problem has gone on since. "Expert" after "Expert" has found the solution only for nothing to be fixed . I even asked one technician If the Fibre 500 would be better for coverage around the house and he assured me it would. So I asked for the upgrade as well as getting my phone problem resolved. He also said he would send me a newer router and extender for our agreed price of £45 pm. Nothing came or got fixed then two weeks later I got a call from another "Expert" who told me the order hadn't gone through so he reordered it all again same equipment same price. Again nothing, all this time we have had no phone despite paying my bill every month so I rang yesterday 18th August to enquire as to any progress. This time I talked to an agent who looked at the problem and explained that BRSK had ported the number and also put a switch order on my phone account in 2026 when my TalkTalk contract finishes, all this is unbeknownst to me.He explained I needed to ring them and ask them to cancel it and the phone would be ok then, which I did immediately. The guy at BRSK said the cancellation was immediate. The Talktalk agent advised me to ring TalkTalk back when I cancelled the switch and the upgrade could be done then. Which I did and got another agent with a South African sounding accent. She was very polite but then the trouble started, she said there would be a leaving fee due to changing my contract, the cost of the 500 was around £8 more and they would not be sending any new equipment unless I paid for it. She kept saying she would talk to her manager then come back and say he said this or that. So a bit annoyed and bemused I asked for some credit back for not having a phone for weeks, again the manager said no.IThat was the final straw for me, despite being very reasonable I got nothing in return from TalkTalk except a patronising attitude being so sorry etc but then treating a long standing customer with contempt for (I believe) daring to have a trial with another company.I cancelled the upgrade and stayed with the existing package till my current package ends next year So they got nothing and I got nothing. What a company. Still my phone isn't working, I also plan to put this complaint on the community page to warn off other potential customers.Ian F Oddy Ian OddySent from my iPhone
