A man from Openreach came to open the manhole cover outside my back door, unannounced, so assume neighbours reported a problem. Checked my own phone to find it was completely dead. Assumed Openreach were already on the job and would soon fix it. Since then no sign of anyone from Openreach.

 

My broadband still works normally!

 

And yes, I have tried connecting the phone directly to the test socket.

I'm sorry to hear this.

 

The line test has detected a potential external line fault so I have escalated this over to Openreach to be investigated by an Openreach line engineer.

 

I will continue to monitor for updates and I will post back on this thread.
