I still have got broadband, but my phone line is not working.
I have tried a different phone in the socket and also took the broadband filter out to try the main socket. still no phone though.
If I ring my own number, my mobile thinks its ringing, bit the landline remains completely silent.
There is no dialtone on the landline.
I'd like to raise this as a fault. but this message system seems to be the only way to contact anyone.

Okay thanks for confirming. Did you test the phone in the test socket before contacting us?
on 14-04-2025 12:01 PM
yes it is.
I tried all these tests. different phone handset, socket without the filter, and master socket under the socket cover.

Thank you very much for confirming.
Just to confirm DaveGostelow, will you or anyone who lives with you be able to contact emergency services while your services remain impacted?
on 14-04-2025 10:49 AM
no.
on 14-04-2025 10:36 AM
Hi there @DaveGostelow. I am very sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with your landline, I will look into this for you. Just to confirm do you have any active monitoring for life threatening health reasons which is solely dependant upon your TalkTalk Broadband or Telephone line?
For example a care alarm, lifeline, health pendant or fall detector.

I am at home now. the phone is still the same. not fixed.
I was sent a text at 08:13 with a url talktalk.co.uk/didwefixit but this just takes me to a generic web page that seems to have nothing to do with my me or the problem.
its strange that I can call my own landline number from another phone (my mobile) and on the mobile it sounds like its ringing. the landline does not ring. if I pick up the landline phone it is not answered, the landline is silent. the mobile is still ringing it.

I have updated my profile. why wasn't that all carried over from my account? Having to type everything in twice is stupid.

Hi,
You are in the staff's queue for a response.
For a quicker reply can you please ensure you have your personal information up to date in your profile including your TalkTalk landline phone number so your account can be traced. Link here - https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/user/myprofilepage/tab/personal-profile:personal-info
If you are unsure of your phone number, you can find this in My Account or dial 17070 from your landline phone and this will confirm the number for you.
You can also add your account number in the private notes field, which only you and the support staff can view.
Please post back when done.
Thank you
