having problems with talktalkfsecure installation - keep getting error message asking me to restart

My problem is I had to do a system restore on my laptop and it failed because of the talktalk super safe boost and wanted me to uninstall it first. I did this so I could perform the restore but when I've tried to reinstall the supersafe boost on my account it says it is valid, then when I go back in it says there is an error and I have to restart. I restart the computer and it shows I am covered then I get the error message again. Ben on the phone to someone from talktalk technical dept but he said I really have to sort it out from my device and don't know what I'm doing or how to fix it. I have tried another releae license and reinstall. One minute it says the subscription has expired then it's saying I'm protected. Help needed please

With the f secure uninstalled, when you reboot then does everything work ok?

Do you have any other anti virus installed and have you disabled it as there may be a conflict between the 2.

If it still causes issues then you will need to wait for support on Monday, as it may need intervention from the tech team.

I've just googled this and the advice offered so far corresponds with this. For info, please see this link.

yes, I tried uninstalling using the f secure remove tool and after reinstalling am still getting the same result/error message about it wanting a restart all the time and not able to do a manual scan.
I checked for windows updates as you suggested and they are all up to date

Have you uninstalled using the f secure removal tool.

Try this as it completely removes it as the windows installer leaves traces behind.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling talktalk f secure super safe a few times now and still getting the same issue. One minute it says it's protected and subscription valid then very soon after critical error saying it isn't and needing a restart.  I do the restart then within a short time back to the error message again.  It also won't let me do a manual scan - it keeps failing.  Yet when I go in to say a banking site to see if the green line and protection comes up and it does.

Also having problems knowing where to find how to post a message and see replies on the community page - can you please help? thank you

I'd suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the program.

To do this you will need to open your Dashboard on your PC and release any licence that applies to your laptop. Select People and Devices, then Subscription Owner and then click the device.
Next I'd suggest running the F-secure uninstall tool. if you have already released the licence and uninstalled using windows, please run this as some aspects of the program are known to remain and this will remove any traces of the programme from your computer and hopefully allow a clean installation. The tool can be found here. https://www.f-secure.com/gb-en/support/tools

Then from your f-secure account install the programme again on your laptop.
Once done and if you are still having issues, run check for windows update and once done (even if says up to date), shut down the PC and restart. Then re-run the Check Windows update. Some parts of windows require a restart before some others can be installed and once all updates installed, the issue with F-secure may resolve itself..
Hope this helps, but if you still have issues then let us know and I'll flag for further assistance.
