I wish to reset my TalkTalk My Account password.

If I do that, will that new password automatically become the password for TalkTalk Mail. i.e one password for bot accounts.

Will that new password be required by Thunderbird.

Thank you.

Thanks Divsec and Ady

The problem arose when I reset a new (more secure) password for My Account.

I then moved on to TalkTalk Webmail intending to reset a new (more secure) password there, and found that the original had been changed - to the same password as the new one on My Account. At that point I abandoned, and am using the original (unreset) password for both accounts - both accounts historically have the same password - I don't know why - and since it all works, I thought that this was the norm.

Futher advice (in step-by-step form) on achieving separate passwords would be gratefully received.

Hi Newhey, the 2 passwords should be seperate. If they were to be the same then yes you'd have to update Thunderbbird with the new password.

Hi @Newhey great question and in my case the two passwords are independent. You may wish to wait till tomorrow for a definitive answer from Talk talk staff.

I don't work here and all my opinions are my own.
