As a very long time TalkTalk (ex Tiscali) customer, I am used to all the jiggery-pokery which goes on, but I have been witnessing the shenanigans for users of legacy e-mail addresses with interest. I have two @Tiscali.co.uk addresses and one @talktalk.net address all in active use. The @talktalk.net address is also used for logging on to "My Account".

All seem to be operating very well. All three can be accessed both by webmail, and using Outlook 365, and I have set up one of the Tiscali ones using Outlook on Android and the TalkTalk one using Google Mail on Android.

All three are linked to my TalkTalk broadband account. I have discovered the TalkTalk Mailbox Manager at https://apps.talktalk.co.uk/myaccount/#/login which lists all three and seems to provide facilities such as changing password and setting up an alias.

However, I see that many things have happened to other users. I was aware that TalkTalk, unlike other ISPs who swallowed up older email domains (who remembers wanadoo?), continued to provided email service for obsolete domains, and even offered a paid-for service called Mail Plus for users of such email addresses who chose a different broadband provider. I can see that such accounts are now being ported across to EveryMail.

Recently a Community user, apparently a TalkTalk broadband customer, has been informed that one of his legacy email addresses in in such a state that he can't change its password, he has to abandon it, and must also provide a different non-TalkTalk address for logging on to "My Account".

Every so often I notice that some broadband customers are being offloaded to Utility Warehouse.

It makes me wonder how long I will be immune from some perilous action from TalkTalk. At least I have 24 month Broadband Fibre 65 (FTTC) deal, so I should be safe for a while.

Now surfing from a Dell Inspiron 3881 running Windows 11 and a Qualcomm QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter with Sagemcom FAST 5364 router.
