@lordxlordx, it does seem that systems were totally down today  - you were being given honest answers.    I was following a case earlier which suddenly ground to a halt, and when I suggested trying Chat / phoning  / X / Facebook etc was told that ALL support was down for diagnostics etc.   There's nobody available at this time of night.   Let's hope things are sorted by the time staff come back on here. You'll absolutely have to be able to respond during the day whilst staff run checks, @Brighton21.   Nothing will be done out of hours  - they will be back on here from 7am, so hopefully you'll be able to catch their messages.   They'll be asking you to observe router lights, possibly plug in directly at the test socket etc.   They do this to double check that the fault is not caused by eg wiring faults in the home etc.   If the fault is not found to be with Openreach or Talktalk's equipment, you end up paying for the engineer coming out.   Please read the following:   https://help-centre.talktalk.co.uk/Billing_and_Payments/Something_else/Engineer_charges   So the diagnostic checks are done by staff to try to help spare you the cost of an unnecessary call out. ... It stopped working because you stopped paying Everymail, @brangywhite.   After you subscribed, it had nothing more to do with Talktalk, whereas if you had left the emails set up connected with your My Account, through Talktalk completing the webform, it would have been Talktalk's responsibility.    It's important that Talktalk is able to confirm whether it will be possible to move these email addresses back into your current subscription, so I'll give them a nudge to chase this up again for you.  ... Talktalk cannot make it available to you until it's agreed its own terms with Openreach, @GEG64.   It won't be offered at this stage.   These Openreach representatives were just warning you about disruption in the street or at the exchange while infrastructure is being installed. There may even be a temporary disruption to your own service.    Openreach is likely to have selected certain ISPs for an initial roll out in your area.
