Hey Everyone,
Next week is a very exciting time for us, not only do we celebrate the communities 3rd birthday but we’re also launching a brand new look. Like our members we love community and you guys have been sharing your suggestions and ideas about how we can make things better and I’m pleased to tell you that over the past few months we’ve been planning how to implement these great suggestions.
We’re super excited to share that next week we’ll be launching the first phase of our new and improved community, this will be the first of many improvements being delivered over the coming months, here’s what you can expect from our first round of improvements:
Many of you have told us how frustrated you’re when using the community on a mobile device and with so many members accessing the community this way; we decided to tackle this first. We started our design process with mobile in mind, crafting the best possible experience for a mobile user, ensuring that all the features & content in the community was easily accessible for even the smallest of mobile screen size. This approach is known as “responsive” which means the community will adjust and adapt to fit the screen size of any device, from a 24in iMac down to a 5in mobile phone the community will always be crystal clear and easy to use.
Searching the community is the quickest way to find answers and other members so we’ve taken search, put it at the heart of community and placed it on every page so that no matter where you are in the community you can easily find the next best answer or discussion to take part in and being a responsive community this works on any device.
Our current default avatars are a little dated to say the least; we’ve been working on a new and funky set of default avatars which anyone can use and I’m sure you’ll find one to match your personality, obviously you can still upload your own custom avatars as always.

As many of our founding fathers will know, TalkTalk has had a forum since 2007 however 3 years ago we re-launched as the “TalkTalk Community” and next week we also celebrate our 3rd Birthday. To mark the occasion we’ll have a birthday badge up for grabs for all users who take part in our feedback discussion area where you can tell us what you think about the new community but we’ll also be running a mystery giveaway where each day a lucky member will have the chance to win some cool gadgets.
Over the next 4 months we’ll be sharing our plans the next phase of updates to community and how you can get involved.
