Renewal price, I don't think so!

My fibre 65 contact has just expired, with the rises, I ended up paying £26 a month.

My next bill is going to cost £39 for January, as I am now out of contract. I have clicked on what deals are available to me, and can renew for £35 per month!  I don't think so, this is for 65mbs fibre, not even full fibre.

I have been a customer for 20 years, one of the reasons I have stayed, is I use my tiscali email a lot, so didn't want to loose it.  Probably time to start changing everything to my Gmail account, bit of a pain, but then I will be able to go to any other provider.

I know I will be told to phone the Loyalty team to discuss a better price, but I shouldn't have to, I have a lot going on at the moment, hence why I want to stay with fibre 65.

The odd thing is, I looked at my renewed options a couple of weeks ago, and the price was £27, now it is £35!

A customer recently complained that everytime they accessed their renewal offer, the price changed. They posted examples, so it might be worth logging in again to check and then refresh the screen to see if the price changes to one you like.

Be sure to screenshot the offer before you click through to accept to prove the offer you accepted in case it changes while you are going through the process.

@dougan1963, they tend to push the upgrade options as they need to get people onto Full Fibre eventually.

The bottom end of the full fibre speeds currently get the cheapest advertised deals - if you look at the list on the main Talktalk website [small print] you'll see that humble Fast Broadband [ADSL] comes in more expensive than your FTTC!

It's nothing to do with the sophistication of the package  - everything to do with nudging customers to get the switch to full fibre done.

You always can try negotiating a good new deal for the current service but it's unlikely to be as favourable as similar speeds on Full Fibre.

Gliwmaeden2, a fellow customer.

@dougan1963 I have had a look into the account, because the bill has already generated should you get a better deal with the loyalty team it will not change the bill, but you will receive credit reversals on the next bill. Please call the better value team using the number 03451720088 during these hours Monday to Friday: 9am - 7pm | Saturday: 9am - 6pm and they can check for a better deal.
