We are trying to link one talk talk router with another in order to extend our wifi coverage but it just doesn't seem to work. We've disabled the DHCP etc on the 2nd one, but the original router just can't 'see' the 2nd router. We have done so much research and it seems that TT doesn't enable their routers to connect wirelessly but it would work if we used an ethernet cable! Is this actually correct, as this seriously reduces the use of a TT router and will mean it just goes in the bin!!!! So wasteful.
If anyone out there knows how we can do it wirelessly we would be so grateful!

That is a shame, because I might have been able to resolve this for you for free. However, so long as you are happy, that is the main thing.

Keith, many thanks for your kind help.
Given that the TT routers are unable to connect wirelessly, we decided to buy a mesh wifi extender rather than have even more wiring and inconvenience. We bought a TP Link RE315 which has done the job, and works well.
It's a shame that the spare router doesn't have a bridging functionality. Using a cable would not have worked for us as the dead zone we wanted to cover was on a different floor and at the opposite end of the house. Even if there is a way round that, it is too much hassle - easier to buy a good mesh extender and then get on with life! Our spare router will now sit in the cupboard gathering dust or end up in the bin.
Thanks again for responding - much appreciated.

@Waves1 Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your efforts to extend your Wi-Fi coverage using two TalkTalk routers. I understand how important it is to have a reliable internet connection throughout your home; we are here to help you with this issue.
Many TalkTalk routers are designed primarily for wired connections when it comes to linking multiple routers. While some routers can be configured to work wirelessly as repeaters or access points, this feature may not be available on all TalkTalk models.
Here are a few options you can consider extending your Wi-Fi coverage:
As you mentioned, connecting the two routers via an Ethernet cable is often the most reliable method. You can place the second router in a location where you want to extend coverage and connect it to the first router using a cable. If your second TalkTalk router supports it, you may be able to set it up in bridge mode. This would allow it to connect wirelessly to the primary router. However, not all TalkTalk routers have this capability, so you may need to check the user manual or contact us for specific model instructions. If using a second router proves to be too complicated, you might consider investing in a Wi-Fi extender or a mesh Wi-Fi system. These devices are designed specifically to enhance Wi-Fi coverage and can be easier to set up.
If you would like more detailed instructions on any of these options or if you have specific model numbers for your routers, please let me know, and I can provide further assistance.
Thank you for your understanding, and I hope we can find a solution that works for you!

No TalkTalk router can connect to another via WiFi. However, there are mesh nodes that can. Excactly what make/model of router are you using as your main router & then I might be able to help.
