Constant Wifi issues

For the past few months now I've been running into many wifi related issues with my TalkTalk Sagemcom FAST 5364 Router.

I have no broadband issues at all with any wired device but every wireless device has had one or more issues, some more consistent than others.

Issues include(just off the top of my head):

- Constant drops from 2.4GHz (20+ times a day for some devices within the same room & 2m of the router).
- "Connected but no internet" while wired devices work fine so the connection is working. (requiring manual disconnect/reconnect to work)

- 5GHz connection just stops broadcasting but says it is in router settings (cannot see with wifi analysers).

- Devices unable to re-connect to wifi in general/multiple local ip's for the same device.
- Reserving IP for a wifi device caused it to be unable to re-connect at all after dropping. (until router restart).

Devices affected:
3 different phones, 2 different tablets, 2 fire sticks, IPCamera and a few others.

Solutions tried:
Setting wifi channel manually to uncongested regions.
Setting wifi channel to auto.
Disabling 5ghz.
Factory Resets.
Connecting only one wifi device.

I've been trying to see if there was anything I could do to fix the issue but it just seems that there must be an issue with the device when all wifi devices have the significant and constant drops after factory resets.
Especially since I've been with TalkTalk in the past with I believe the same router and devices yet never had issues like this. (also no issues with my previous provider's router before I changed)

Hi patbeattie512

Ok, thank you. I have switched the WIFI optimisation off as requested.

Hiya,
Yes the router arrived earlier today and I have just replaced the previous one.
I'll report back in a bit to see if the issue is solved.

Also I was reading this thread:
https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Broadband/Wifi-dropping-out/m-p/2848242#M829462
Which sounds like it could be a vaguely similar issue to some of what I was dealing with, would it be ok to also disable WIFI optimisation to give it the best chance at being fully solved?

Thanks

Hi patbeattie512

No problem 🙂

The router is on its way, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.

Let us know how the connection compares with this router.

Thanks again.
