Hi all
What equipment should I have in home for Fibre 65 ?
I currently have a Huawei-HG633 router but whilst looking through the fix it section it looks like I should also have an Openreach modem on the Fibre 65.
I have been having lots of connectivity issues recently, from my Sky box losing connection to the router, to having to reboot the router and any devices connected to it nearly every other day.
I’ve been with TalkTalk for years and would hate to leave, but it’s driving me mad.
Thanks in advance for any and all help and input.

I have the new router, been running since Friday with no drop outs so far.
Fingers crossed that’s it sorted now.

Not yet, but I have had an email from Yodel saying they have it at their hub.

Hi Dougie
Have you received the router?

Hi Dougie
The router is on its way, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.
Let us know how the connection compares with this router.
Thanks

Hi Michelle
That would be great, thanks.
Anytime I run a test it always shows strong connection to the modem, but poor on my devices, plus it keeps dropping connection.
I was going through some of the help topics to try and solve it and that is when I found the article in the attached picture.
Thanks again
Dougie

Hi Dougie,
I'm sorry to hear this. I've run a test on the line now which is clear. The HG633 is one of our older routers. Would you like us to send a replacement router for testing purposes to see how your connection compares?
Thanks
Michelle

You don't need a separate modem, your router has one built-in. Having said that, it is a bit long in the tooth. Make sure that your personal details including TalkTalk phone number and/or account number are complete on your community profile (click here) so that the support team here can link your forum identity with your account and then wait for them to respond.

Wow really? That router is ten years old or there abouts, it doesn’t even support gigabit Ethernet, they should have upgraded it right away surely?

I spoke to them a couple of months back, waste of time, reboot router, reboot devices, no help whatsoever.
My deal is up in June, can’t see me renewing.

You are definitely due an upgrade, contact them (if you can) and they should send one out to you.
