Out of Date Router/Security

Hi. I have a router HUAWEI Model HG633 and I wondered if it should have been replaced. I have heard from friends with other broadband suppliers that all routers should have been replaced in February 2025, as part of new security needs.

Does this apply to this router, if so can I have a new one?

Hi, Thanks for the advice. I did have a chat about renewal and my loyalty and got a new router and new TV box included for free, as I had renewed both contracts.

Cheers

Thanks, I may have thought that £80 was a bit steep, as I've been with TalkTalk since forever.

I have just recived a renewal of my broadband from the offer email, which I have accepted, so I suppose I'll phone them as you suggest to get a loyalty upgrade, as I don't suppose they'll do it anyway.

Thanks.

You should have received an email giving you options to keep it, or buy a new one for £80.

Just because it's out of date and support doesn't mean it will not work. Informing you of obsolete equipment is and Ofcom regulatory requirement.

If though you are in the last 4 months of your contract, or out of contract, you can phone the loyalty team to renew and as part of that renewal request a new free router.

If you wish to discuss a renewal, Try phoning 0345 172 0088
