Router - Firmware updates needed

I have been speaking with Johnpaolo in regards to my issue. I work with Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust & I have an issue where my work VPN is being blocked. 

 

I had an email from our IT Department this morning:

 

 'Please be aware that several southern health staff currently working from home are unable to connect to checkpoint endpoint security (our VPN to work from home). We have identified that this is linked to the internet service provider TalkTalk who are actively blocking the ability for Southern Health staff to work from home via a secure connection. If staff are experiencing the above, we advise that you make contact with your provider to discuss' 

 

Johnpaolo checked the line and everything is working. However, he advised that my router needs firmware updates & to address it here in this post forum.

Your router now has the firmware version with the VPN fix. Please can you power down the router for 30 minutes and then retest again?

Hi Debbie,

I have read previous forums and understand that a firmware update can be done or a new router is provided - is that correct?

I am currently using my mobile as a hotspot which isn't ideal as it drains my battery and data.
