Router admin password lost

I did have it written down (in coded form, naturally!) but it's been lost. I know that I'll have to factory reset the router, realistically. I made various changes to the router settings, SSID etc. so will have to do that again.

My question: once I'm back online, will TT automatically update the router & does that happen straight away?

My router: Sagemcom Fast 5364-3 T8

After you reset your TalkTalk router and reconnect it, it should automatically check for and apply any available firmware updates. If you want to keep track of the firmware version, you can note it down before the reset and then check it again after the router has reconnected to see if there have been any changes. Let us know if you encounter any issue.

Thank you. I know I'll have to change my settings again, but it's really any firmware updates - I'll have to note the version & see if anything changes. In my memory (or, imagination) I'm sure there was one.

Updates are automatic if there are any.

A factory reset may or may not pull these through.

An update will not restore your personal settings for you so you will have to do them again.

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here: How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - Help & Support.
