Some devices do not connect to the 5GHZ SSID - Authentication Error Occured

Hi,

My services have been recently reconnected and upon trying the same router with existing devices. Most of my devices connect. But my Samsung phone and macbook pro computer do not connect to the 5GHZ SSID that I have setup. My phone connects to the 2.4 Ghz SSID. My wife has the same phone as I and her phone connects to the 5GHz SSID.

My macbook pro is the main issue. This used to connect until Dec when my services were last active (before my home move). Now, my MBP does not connect. When I select my 5GHz network name and enter my WPA2 password, it just keeps prompting me to re-enter the password. It fails to authenticate. I have tried restarting my router, restarting my MBP, Clearing the system config on my MBP but it just does not connect. My MBP does not connect to the 2.4 Ghz network either.

Please help.

Are the MBP & your phone in the same room as your wife's phone when they try to connect to the router?

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - TalkTalk Help & Support
