Hi all

I recontracted last week ever somce my internet is disconnecting and running slow all the time. It was fine previously and i was getting 60+ mbps but now nothing like that and drop outs all the time.

Is this supposed to happen after recontracting?

Thank you

Ask for Wi-Fi Optimisation to be disabled first & when done, let me know.

Hi

Thanks for the reply, it is the router you mentioned although i cannot see anything on it that states the model just the info i mention in last post.

I would be happy to do nore testing although,  its been great so far today and in the years prior to last week it has been?

Presumably it could because of the optimisation on the line?

However i am happy to carry oit some tests to see if i have interference.

I do not use the talk talk 4k box very much we mainly use Netflix and amazon, thats the only device on ethernet.

I really appreciate all the help and assistance.

Thank you

Thanks, I guess from that even though it is not a model number you have the Sagemcom FAST5364 WiFi Hub.

If the problems are basically WiFi related, then slow speed, intermittent dropouts, breaks in the signal or no signal on some or all devices or no internet access might be caused by Wi-Fi interference from other local networks, which can also lead to a permanent reduction in speed. No ISP can be responsible for your local environment, this is mainly a byproduct of the popularity of Wi-Fi.

Generally speaking, the 2.4GHz band suffers much more from interference than the 5GHz band, but the 2.4GHz one can sometimes have a better range, but this all depends on your local area.

Have you had TalkTalk’s Wi-Fi optimisation disabled on your Sagemcom FAST5364 router? When this is enabled, as it is by default, it has the power to override any Wi-Fi configuration changes that I might suggest that you need to make. This will not help rectify this type of problem if Wi-Fi Optimisation is allowed to change my suggested settings. Only TalkTalk can do this for you, you cannot do it yourself. If not, just request they disable this for you in your reply.

The next stage involves sending out a guide to you to help you get me some important diagnostic results so that I can analyse them for you and recommend changes to your router configuration to solve them.

I only send this out to people who request it.

A TT Super Router could be one of quite a few routers. Please can you look at the label on the rear of it & get the make and model number?

Hi.

Its a talk talk super router.

Talk talk tv is through ethernet as before all other devices through wifi. Perhaps its just a coincidence?

Worst has been 4k firestick although has previously been solid and its very close to the router?

Thank you

Can you see if its been outing from your side?

Hi phils5887,

Line test is clear and you router is in sync at 68.4Mbps. As Keith has asked, are both wired and wireless devices affected by the slow speed and drops in connection?

If you log into your router 9what make/model is it), what internet speed is it showing there, if you have a Wi-Fi hub this is in the initial dashboard area?

How do your devices connect to the router, just by Wi-Fi or do some connect over a wired (Ethernet) connection? If you use any wired ones are they better then wireless ones?
