I've recently been switched to TalkTalk and was advised the process would be smooth and I didn't need to do anything regarding direct debit as they would be able to take my payment with existing dd to Shell.

I received an email today telling me they were unable to collect payment and I am going to be charged £12.50.

I have plenty of money in my account so it's TalkTalks problem, not mine.

I did not agree to going with TalkTalk. My broadband connection has been terrible over the last month which sadly has been my experience with TalkTalk in the past. I will let them cut me off and try and get money from me. I have a terminal illness and will likely be dead before they get a penny fro me.

Sadly there's been a lot of stress around this switchover, @Teressa, but be assured that you will NOT be charged the £12.50.

Talktalk is aware of the error with the Direct Debits but sadly compounded it with the emails automatically coming out when a DD fails.

You will need to make a one off payment to cover the bill, but not this extra charge.

There should have been no change in the performance of the line as Talktalk were always behind Shell as a provider.

Staff will be back on here during the day on Friday and again after the weekend to address your concerns.
