I have recently tried to log into my router but it won't accept my user name & password.
As far as I can remember I haven't changed these so they are the original ones which are stored in my password vault. Ive tried switching the router off/on which didn't work so wonder if there has been an OTA update that may have affected the router?
My only other option is to factory reset the router but I don't want to do that as I have some port routing devices set up that I can't remember the details for 🙄
Any thoughts?

Hi macgd016
If you do keep experiencing issues with the router then please let us know and we can send a replacement for testing.
Thanks again.

Hi Debbie
I rather thought that would be the only answer but hoped for something less radical. However, as its still working ok I will just leave it until I need to access it for some reason and you never know I 'may' have backed up the configuration!

Hi macgd016
Apologies for this.
The only thing I can suggest is factory resetting the router using the pin hole reset, sorry.
Thanks
Debbie

Ah, fair point. Well I think you are just going to have to bite the bullet.

Except I can't log into it 😂

Well I can't think of anything other than a pinhole reset I'm afraid. You could try backing up and saving your configuration settings on the router first so that you can re-instate them afterwards.

Yes I've entered it all manually and from different devices

Have you tried typing them in manually just to check there is no issue with the saved settings?

It would have helped if I had mentioned the router model wouldn't it 🙄, thanks for being so polite 😂
You are right it is a DG8041W and the user name is user and password as on the card are in my password vault.

Hi @macgd016,
I'm not sure what model of router you have, but if it is one of the models that just has a single LED on the front, then the factory default router password is on a label on the back of the router, you need to pull out the plastic card with the Wi-Fi details on the back of the router to see the label underneath. So if you think your router is using the factory default password, have you checked that the details in your password vault match the details on that label ?
