wifi hub changing channel automatically

My problem started by the Wifi hub showing my broadband as down on the hub summary page, and as a red line, but it is still working fine as displayed in other status pages. I thought this maybe just a software glitch so did a factory reset but the problem still persists. Some explanation for this would be appreciated but now I also have the channel optimization taking over the channel allocation. Can this be disabled as I now share channel 1 with 5 other wifi's and it is now frequently loosing connectivity to various wifi devices. Thanks.

Hi @cmingra13

Assuming that you mean in the router's UI, this just requires you to stay on that page for a few seconds while the display updates.

Hi cmingra13

Thanks for your reply.

Just to confirm, where do you see this message? Is this when running a test in My Connection?

Thanks Debbie WiFi now working fine and staying on my selected channel.

I would still like to understand why the summary web page about the status of my wiFi Hub is still showing as down (red line) when in fact all working OK which is confirmed by sending this email.

Hi cmingra13

How's the connection been since the WIFI optimisation was switched off?

Thanks

Hi cmingra13

Apologies for this.

I've switched the WIFI optimisation off, please let us know how the connection compares.

Thanks

You need to request that TalkTalk disable WiFi optimisation in your reply.

When this is enabled, as it is by default, it has the power to override any Wi-Fi configuration changes that you might make.
