One of six calls so far today, all starting with 0128 - hang up when answered.
Received a call from a woman saying she is contacting me because I had an accident at work and would like to make a claim. I have never had an accident at work! When challenged she hung up. I tried calling the number but it does not exist.
Scam pretending to be BT
Received multiple calls today from this number. An automated voice says TalkTalk WiFi will be disconnected if I do not follow their instructions. I did not wait to hear the instructions but hung up immediately.
Claimed that there was a problem with my services and to be from TalkTalk IT department. Then he suggested I Google "My IP Address Location", which showed my location as Amsterdam. He was all set to make much of this, but he hung up when I mentioned that this was probably just a proxy, and he realised that I was a little more computer literate than he expected. I was to tempted to play along a little further to see what the next step was going to be, wasting some more of his time so he couldn't scam someone else, but the word 'proxy' stopped the call. Shame!
I have received 6 phonecalls today. All claiming to be talktalk technical department and saying my internet will be cut off unless i press number 1 to discuss this matter. I have put the phone down each time. Then I started getting someone just laughing at the end of the line
Caller threatening to disconnect TalkTalk internet
Said I owed tax and if I didn't pay now I would be taken to criminal court when I said I would check with payroll they hung up
Several calls so far today all claiming to be TalkTalk saying we will have internet cut off today, press 1 to speak to someone, press 2 to have your internet cut off now. All different numbers, used call bar after each one but they then use a new number.
This is an American prerecorded message. We do not listen to the whole thing but they imply that we are going to lose our Talk Talk connection soon and we should press 1 for further information and put us in touch with Talk Talk. This call has happened six times so far today (18/4/19).
