Claiming to be from BT and that IP address compromised and will cut line off in 24hrs
The caller had an american accent and sai that my internet connection was going to be switched off, I hung up
Recorded message pretending to be from my bank Saying £300 had been withdrawn from my account, which is untrue
Recorded message saying it was from BT about illegal of my network connection and that it was going to be disconnected. I pressed 1, as I always do, to talk to the scammer but they didn't respond. Scammer.
Called twice today at about 9.30 am and 14.00 I cannot be sure whether the voice was automated. The call was about an Amazon account involving Apple purchase. We had not been involved in any such transaction. We were invited to "cancel" by pressing 1. Usually I swith off the phone immediately but my wife pressed 1 before switching off. I am concerned we may have activated some form of scam.
Didn't recognise number so was suspicious and did not reply but phone went onto answermachine. No message was left
