I want to delete my emails except for the ones from this year. How do I do that?

So, @Johnsy

If you are using TalkTalk webmail,

you can do the following, for each of the folders that you want to delete all the emails  before the beginning of this year:

click the folder,

--> ensure  the messages in that folder are in date order (either descending or ascending),

--> assuming they are the usual descending order, scroll down the list, until you see the first email before the beginning of this year,

--> mark that first email, by clicking on the little square on the left,

--> scroll down the list, until you see the last email,

--> mark that last email, by holding the shift button and clicking on the little square on the left,

--> this marks all emails you want to delete,

-->  careful you haven't included any sub-folders that may contain emails from this year,

--> click the delete icon at the top (the garbage bin),

all done for this folder. continue with any other folders

Yes, you can create rules in TalkTalk webmail.

But they apply to incoming emails in the Inbox folder only, not already received emails.

If he using TalkTalk webmail, he'll have to mark each email he wants deleted.

He cannot create a rule and then run the rule manually.

If he using Thunderbird, or something similar,

he can create a rule and then run the rule manually

Create an appropriate rule in your settings.
