All contacts lost out of address book when my email was hacked is there an easy way to retrieve them?

I have had the same problem with hacker taking address book from talktalk. Note it cannot be retrieved but how do you start a new one, just cannot do it????

Anything stored in webmail cannot be guaranteed by Talktalk, @wilma311. If it's gone, it's gone.

You need to create your own backups of both emails and contact lists.
