(Messaging for my father:talktalk customer)
Hi board user,
Email hacked. Cannot read email or reset password.
Dodgy fishing messages being sent out.
Sent to computer shop - they could reset password but it kept being reset again. i.e. cannot help.
I tried it - got a reset password a couple of times - but it looks like the hackers have now reset the emails to send reset link/txt message to.
Filter rules and reply to fields kept getting put back in, after password reset.
If they do not mess with myaccount I can log back in for an update.
Bust email is XXXXX@talktalk.net
My father(account holder) and sister who use this email or not very computer literate.
Can this be cleaned up, or just blocked so spammers cannot use it or send and use gmail?
I guess get back tomorrow when talk talk are contactable...
Regards,
Son of customer.
yesterday
Out of interest what did they do?

Thanks, got through to support they may have sorted it out.

Hi Pedro15, the password reset changed recently. I'm no longer able to assist as quickly as I once was. You can reset your dad's email password using the manage mail support tools.

@Pedro15, the forum support is online only. Staff are not authorised to ring your father.
It really would have been sorted sooner if you'd have completed both your own and your father's details as described in my original reply.
Please do this now.
Staff will do their best to help on here but are not on at weekends. If it's picked up today, they might make headway before then.
Without the completed details, they cannot identify either your own or your father's account.

Did not go well.
I was promised that all the Account holder had to do was ask for the email reset, he did. All talktalk did was email me (son of account holder) a link.
(It is after midnight) I could ring when lines are open today Friday but I would not get any further than Thursday/no change.
Not happy.
I was too hopeful of my father's abilities with myaccount (and his computer which he says us broken but may just be his talktalk email.)
You can ring him on his talktalk number, to get his permission. I was fobbed off by trying to get him to contact talktalk, it would be easy they said. He is 91.
Thursday
(Could not get authorised will have to get my 91 father to log in to myaccount and ask for an email reset. 😞 )
Thursday
(Getting on to support now)
Thursday
Let us know how you get on with the team.

Sorry about the "too much information" - I messed up.
I will ring talktalk tomorrow rather than have some sort of Frankenstein
my father and I account and filling in personal information
(I see you left similar advice for:@AIWAL in Unable to Reset Password After Hack).
(I will follow up on talktalk's request if they want personal information.)
Thanks again.
Wednesday
@Pedro15, you absolutely must not post any personal information details in the public thread.
For staff to identify your account, please go via your avatar; settings. Add your own details in Personal Information and, further down, in Private Notes, add you father's name, Talktalk phone number, account number and the email address. SAVE CHANGES
Staff reply during the day, Monday to Friday.

Hi board user,
I could get the email blocked for sending? (Spammers can still spoof/spam his address book)
The filter put in an autoforward to a gmail address. There was a reply to a gmail address.
That was 15th March - I do not know the state of the account now. I am not getting reset emails. (I did have the alternative address).
Regards,
Son of account holder.
