Some emails are not making it through to either my or my wife's Tiscali addresses. One sender sent to both addresses earlier today, and messages not received in either box. Sender sent a test message to my Hotmail address and it was OK. I sent a test message from my Hotmail to my Tiscali. It has not arrived after several hours. I have sent a test message from my Hotmail to my TalkTalk address, it has arrived OK.
I have tried a test from my TalkTalk to my Tiscali and that arrived OK.
Something is not right out there.
I have now sent test messages from my GMail account to each of my Tiscali & TalkTalk accounts. Arrived at TalkTalk, not at Tiscali.

Normally we'd suggest that they're not going to come if they haven't arrived after 12 hours.

It's ok going forward now thanks, Ady-TalkTalk, but are the emails sent to tiscali from gmail and hotmail between 11am 7-Nov and 11am 11-Nov held somewhere and will be received at some point. Or do we need to contact everyone who might have sent an email over that period and ask them to re-send?

Hi Bruce-WH, thanks for letting us know you're now receiving gmail again.

I can now report that my test message sent from Gmail to Tiscali at 09.49 this morning 11/11/24 has been delivered to my tiscali.co.uk mailbox at 22.17 on 11/11/25. Perhaps the pipeline has been unblocked.

Can you please tell where I might do those markings?
At tiscali/talktalk or at Gmail? You probably mean Gmail, but where in Gmail? Might that not be a big job, listing all senders?
Thank you,
Bill

@Billx The issue of emails from TalkTalk being treated as Trash or Spam by Gmail has been around for a long time. It is not related to the present problem with email from Gmail to Tiscali getting blocked. The resolution is for the recipient to mark the sender as safe, by marking the item "not spam" or whitelisting the sender as a "safe sender".

Hello @Michelle-TalkTalk
I have now received a solid delivery failure from Gmail for one of my earlier test messages.

I am afraid, having just repeated the previous exercise, 2 emails from talktalk/tiscali to Gmail and 2 emails from Gmail to talktalk/tiscali, using Microsoft Mail application, not 365, I get the same unsatisfactory results. The 4 emails are recorded properly as SENT.
The Gmail to talktalk.net is successful
The Gmail to tiscali.co.uk is completely dead.
The 2 talktalk/tiscali to Gmail, end up in Gmail BIN(trash) folder
Don't your talktalk/tiscali to Gmail, end up in the BIN, from Outlook 365?
EDIT: Incidently, I received 2 emails, soon after they were sent from the TalkTalk Community, but only in the BIN folder at Gmail. They are supposed to be forwarded to tiscali.co.uk. One of those 2 emails, was your reply to me.

In an unexpected development, at 15.28 I received a phone call from the TalkTalk Service Centre. Agent Laura asked me for all details of the fault which I was experiencing, agreed that it was affecting multiple users, and went away to work on it. I have to say this was the most positive thing that has happened. So something is going on out there. I have my doubts about this story of email being delayed due to the backlog, but there's no choice but to wait.

Hello @Billx. Well I hadn't done those tests, but now I have. Not 100% perfect. Sending from my Outlook 365 client which has all four accounts configured, from Tiscali and from TalkTalk addresses to Gmail no problem whatsoever. Sending from Tiscali to Hotmail failed with a delivery failure report, 550 5.7.1 Reject for policy reason. Sending from TalkTalk to Hotmail sent, not delivered, no report. However, using the webmail service to send the test messages, sending from both Tiscali and TalkTalk to Hotmail work fine.

Hi @jbuchanangb
Have you conducted the opposite tests, from tiscali.co.uk and talktalk.net to Gmail.
When I did that, the 2 emails I sent were deposited in the BIN folder.
It doesn't sound good to me.

I will certainly update this thread with news of both test messages.
(1) sent from Gmail to Tiscali at 16.48 on Friday 8/11 [Four "delayed" notifications received so far.]
(2) sent from Gmail to Tiscali at 09.49 today Monday 11/11.
on 11-11-2024 02:50 PM
The fix has gone in the backlog takes time to clear and based on the number of mails in the queue will decide the delay in how long it takes to clear.

Where is the best place to monitor updates?

Thank you. I've passed your feedback over now. I'll keep you updated.

Just to say that at 09.49 I sent a test message from Gmail to Tiscali. It has not arrived, and also no Non-Delivery Report. Then at 11.44 I sent a test message from Gmail to TalkTalk, and it arrived at 11.44.
There is still something wrong between Gmail and Tiscali.

Hi Mary,
Apologies, we've re-escalated this and have asked for another update. We'll keep you updated.
Thanks

I'm still not getting all my emails through. I've had 2 on my dell laptop. There should be several more to my knowledge.
on 11-11-2024 12:45 PM
Hi Bruce,
We've been advised that the emails may be delayed coming through for the next few hours. I'll check back in with you in the morning to see if they are arrived.
Thanks
Michelle
